WebP to PNG Converter

WebP is a modern format created by Google in 2010. While most modern browsers support it, older software like Windows Photo Viewer (pre-2019), some mobile gallery apps, certain design tools like older versions of Photoshop, and many CMS platforms still don't support WebP natively. Converting to PNG or JPG ensures universal compatibility across all devices, apps, and platforms.

If the source WebP is lossless, converting to PNG preserves 100% quality since PNG is also lossless. If the source WebP was saved with lossy compression, the visual quality at that compression level is preserved in PNG (which doesn't add further loss). PNG files will be larger because they don't use lossy compression. For photos, JPG output at 85–95% quality gives a good balance of size and quality.

Yes, WebP supports alpha channel transparency (like PNG), unlike JPG which doesn't support transparency at all. When converting transparent WebP to PNG, the alpha channel is preserved perfectly. When converting to JPG (which has no alpha support), our tool lets you choose a background color to fill the transparent areas — white by default.
